Two Very Significant Days
There are two very significant days in the month of November – Veterans Day on November 11 and Thanksgiving Day on November 23. These are dates to remind us of all the blessings we have as a people and a nation and of the sacrifice others have made in order for us to experience the blessing of freedom and the wealth of our land.”

The October Message
The last few weeks I have preached from Hebrews 10:19-24 on the theme “Encourage One Another”. As we value one another we realize the importance of letting each other know that we love and appreciate one another. We encourage one another as we cheer each other on in success and as we care for and pray for one another when life hits us hard with difficulties. Last Sunday I began to preach from Romans 12:9-16 on the theme of “The Building of a Caring Church” and we will be discovering the “Be’s” of a caring church, the first of which is “Be Sincere In Your Love”. These “Be’s” become the building blocks we must be sure are in place for us to even more effectively fulfill OUR MISSION “…to demonstrate God’s love to ALL people, leading them to embrace Jesus Christ, and helping them grow to maturity in Him.

The September Message
All of us are saying “Where did the summer go?” or “Did we have summer?” Even though summer is not officially over until somewhere around September 20, the activities of summer have concluded and the busy schedule of school responsibilities and sports activities are in full swing...

The August Message
Amy Morris gave me a cartoon recently that shows the boss greeting an employee one morning. The boss says, “You are late for work today!” The employee says, “Am I?...or am I actually early for tomorrow!” The boss is shown standing there with a puzzled look on his face. I don’t recommend that anyone use that line with their boss, but the way the summer is rushing by I sometimes wonder if I am late for one day or just early for the next or late for this month or early for the next...

July's Message
The freedom we enjoy as people living in the United States of America is an incredible privilege and blessing!! Many people have and still are sacrificing for the cause of freedom. Even though there are some who criticize the various wars that have taken place in the past and present, there are thousands, even millions of Americans who appreciate those who serve in the military...

April's Message
Easter is not far away and for those of us who are preparing for the musical drama production, “More Than Just A Man”, that thought can be a little frightening, and yet, the anticipation of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds us that even in the middle of intense time pressures we can live with a sense of joy and peace because of Jesus.

March's Message
The beautiful and meaningful hymn, “Near the Cross”, written by Fanny Crosby many years ago, is a wonderful reminder of the love and mercy God has shown to each of us.

February's Message
For God so loved the world, that He gave His One and Only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
That is the most concise, but all encompassing and greatest love story ever written. “For God SO LOVED…” just about says it all.

January's Message
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Instead of a regular newsletter this month, we decided to send a letter to express our praise to God & our thanks to you for being such a wonderful church family and for letting God use you in many different ways to make 2005 an incredible year of growth and effective ministry. From all of the staff, Pastor Dave and Kathy, Doug and Melinda, Amanda, Tom and Eileen, Jeri, Betty, and Linda, THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND PRAYER SUPPORT and for giving financially to support the decision of the Church Board to give monetary staff bonuses. It was greatly appreciated by each of us!

"Joy to the World!" December's Message
There are many great and meaningful Christmas Carols, so it is difficult to choose one to be a favorite, but I would have to say that one of my favorite Christmas hymns is “Joy to the World” because of the powerful message of hope that it conveys when the songwriter, Isaac Watts, wrote...

"Give thanks to the Lord": November's Message
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say this, those He has redeemed from the hand of the foe. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of His works with songs of joy. Let Israel say: His love endures forever. Let the house of Aaron say: His love endures forever. Let those who fear the Lord say: His love endures forever. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous. Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

"LOVE THEM ANYWAY!": October's Message
I read about a pastor who preached a message from Galatians 6:10 which says, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (NIV).

"Impaitence is waiting in a hurry!": September's Message
Another statement that challenged me when I read it says, “When you are through changing, you are through!!!!!” How true that is! We have come once again to a season of change with autumn, the starting of school, and the resuming of Fall Church Ministries! You may also be going through other kinds of change in your life… like a new or different school, job, home, relationship, church, or any number of things.

Church Camp: August's Message
Last week, twelve of our teens went to the Nebraska District Youth Camp to experience a great time of fun, Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and worship. The theme was, “The Real Life”, and they had an opportunity to learn more about how Christ really is the answer for life’s needs and that Jesus is our hope for a meaningful life. They also had opportunities to discover that, in the middle of the realities of life; God is faithful and is always there for us. When I asked one teen how camp was, they just said, “The Real Life is awesome!” Needless to say, I was thrilled to know that this teen has continued to experience the joy of knowing Jesus.

Patriotism: July's Message
Patriotism has reined popularity since the September 11th terrorism events, and celebrating our nation’s freedom has a higher place of prominence in people’s hearts and minds today. Five or ten years ago, when people were asked about the significance of the 4th of July, sometimes you would come across people who were really not sure, and it didn’t seem to make a lot of difference to them. But, celebrating our nation’s independence and freedom is very significant.
